The AI Boom, Bitcoin’s Resilience, and the Market Setup Nobody Is Seeing

Monday Market Open: What Matters Most

The market enters Monday after one of the most violent tech selloffs in over a year.

The biggest story is not Bitcoin.

The biggest story is that the AI trade finally experienced a major correction.

What Happened Friday?

Nasdaq

  • Down 4.2%
  • Worst session in roughly 14 months
  • Record point decline
  • $1.8 trillion wiped from U.S. equities

Semiconductors

The SOX Semiconductor Index:

  • Down 10.3%
  • Worst day since March 2020

Biggest Casualties

  • Micron (MU): -13%
  • Marvell (MRVL): -17%
  • AMD: -11%
  • Intel: -11%
  • Broadcom (AVGO): -8%
  • Nvidia (NVDA): -6%

Why Did It Happen?

1. Strong Jobs Report

Normally strong employment is good.

This time it wasn’t.

The market interpreted strong jobs as:

  • Inflation stays elevated
  • Fed stays restrictive
  • Rate cuts delayed
  • Bond yields rise

That is bad for high-valuation AI stocks.

2. AI Trade Was Extremely Crowded

You had:

  • Nvidia
  • Marvell
  • Broadcom
  • Micron
  • Astera Labs
  • Credo

running nearly straight up.

Everyone was on the same side of the boat.

Friday looked like a classic “crowded trade unwind.”

3. Broadcom Triggered Profit Taking

Broadcom posted strong numbers.

The problem?

Investors wanted extraordinary numbers.

AI revenue grew massively, but management didn’t significantly raise future guidance.

That gave traders an excuse to take profits.

What About Bitcoin?

Bitcoin briefly broke below $60,000 and hit its lowest level since late 2024.

The selling was driven by:

  • Risk-off sentiment
  • AI stock liquidation
  • Macro concerns
  • Strategy (MSTR) Bitcoin sale headlines
  • Iran tensions

Yet Bitcoin is actually holding up surprisingly well considering the environment.

This is something I’ve been emphasizing.

If Bitcoin can survive:

  • AI selloff
  • Oil concerns
  • Higher yields
  • Inflation fears
  • Geopolitical tension

then the longer-term bull thesis remains intact.

What Happens Monday?

Bullish Scenario

Relief Bounce

The market realizes Friday was excessive.

Semis bounce.

AI stocks recover.

Bitcoin rebounds.

This is my highest-probability scenario.

Not a new bull leg.

Just a relief rally.

Neutral Scenario

Markets stabilize.

  • Nasdaq flat
  • AI stocks mixed
  • Bitcoin consolidates

This would actually be healthy.

Bearish Scenario

Yields continue rising.

AI stocks keep unwinding.

Bitcoin tests lower levels.

Possible:

  • Bitcoin $56k-$58k
  • Nasdaq down another 2-3%

Currently lower probability but possible.

Stocks I’m Watching Closely

Marvell Technology

Bull case:

  • S&P 500 inclusion June 22
  • AI custom chips
  • Jensen Huang’s endorsement
  • Massive institutional buying coming from index funds

My view:

The story is still intact.

The stock just got way ahead of itself.

Micron Technology

The HBM memory story hasn’t changed.

AI servers still need memory.

Demand still exists.

The question is timing.

A 13% drop in one day looks more like profit-taking than thesis destruction.

Broadcom

Still arguably the highest-quality AI infrastructure company.

What changed?

Nothing fundamental.

Valuation got ahead of expectations.

NVIDIA

Still king.

Every AI infrastructure roadmap still runs through Nvidia.

The long-term thesis remains intact.

My Crypto Outlook

Bullish

  • Bitcoin survives $60k area
  • ETF flows stabilize
  • Q3 recovery

Most Bullish Sector

AI Crypto

Examples:

  • Bittensor
  • Near Protocol
  • Render
  • Artificial Superintelligence Alliance

The AI narrative is still the strongest narrative in both stocks and crypto.

My Read for Monday

Stocks

🟡 Slightly bullish

A relief bounce is likely after Friday’s extreme selling.

Bitcoin

🟡 Neutral to slightly bullish

I would not be surprised to see:

  • $60k hold
  • bounce toward $63k-$65k

AI Stocks

🟢 Long-term bullish

Friday felt more like:

  • profit taking
  • crowded trade unwind

rather than the end of the AI boom.

Biggest Theme Going Forward

The market is transitioning from:

“Buy anything AI”

to

“Buy the highest-quality AI winners.”

That is actually bullish for names like:

  • Nvidia
  • Broadcom
  • Marvell
  • Micron
  • Hyperliquid
  • Bittensor
  • NEAR

The easy money phase may be ending, but the AI supercycle itself appears far from over.
